Do you accept to work with modem Internet Aloymax Centrale and how to associate it with a USB modem Aloymax

  3. gerry says

    Hi Rami97

would you be able to clarify the make and model of your USB modem? Dovado can generally add support for modems once they get hold of a sample.

    Gerry

The type of modem ZTE tu25. Sincere thanks for your previous reply.

  5. gerry says

Hi Ram97, from what I can see the ZTE tu25 is a WiMAX USB modem, which isn’t supported on the Dovado UMR. I have asked Dovado if there is a prospect for this type of modem to be supported.

  6. Darmawan says

  12. John Tully says

Have bought two dovado umr sofar brilliant device with many firmware upgrades regularly had one problem and it was resolved immediately by Gerry thanks again

  13. gerry says

Jonathan, it all depends on what modem you are using in the Philippines. If it’s listed on http://dovado.com/modems then the UMR will work for you and we’re certainly happy to ship to the Philippines.

  14. gerry says

Thanks for the kind words, John.

  17. Hadi Jayani says

Thanks Gerry… The order has been placed a few days ago. Hope the UMR can work with my ZTE AC2726 CDMA modem :)

  18. gerry says

Thanks your purchase, Hadi – posted on 22 Oct 09, it’s on it’s way. And yes the UMR supports the ZTE AC2726.

  19. Hygaphunkik says

Gerry my Ubuntu webbook picked up my LG viewty as a broadband modem when I plugged it in via usb. Do you know if the Dovado will be able to use this phone as a modem.

  20. gerry says

Hi Hygaphunkik – I did ask Dovado a while back about the “phones as modems” issue. Here is the gist of their response:

With mobile phones it becomes a case of “support one, you gotta support all”. We don’t want to go down this road just yet since it would be a terribly expensive effort and with mobile phone firmwares updating all the time, we’d be bombarded with support issues. Asides from that, the mobile phone is not the device with a comfortable data plan. Even with a good data plan, they usually do not allow mobile tethering. There are a few exceptions, but that’s all they are today: few exceptions. This may change in the future, no doubt, but for now we don’t want to be synonymous with this and raise everyone’s hopes about supporting their phone. We nearly always require the device in order to support it.

  21. Hadi Jayani says

Dear Gerry, the UMR has already been received here. It works very well with ZTE AC2726 USB modem. Dodavo UMR is a very great product!

I have a little incident here… In the package I can not find the wifi antenna.

I believe the antenna has been lost somewhere during the inspection by the indonesian custom or postal service and will be very useless if we file the complain to them :)

I hope in the future 3Genuity can provide an alternative shipment service such as DHL or FedEx.

  22. gerry says

Oh dear, Hadi, that’s very frustrating. we can use FedEx for customers if requested but of course that costs nearly as much as the UMR itself (c. EUR 70) and doesn’t necessarily guarantee smooth passage through customs.

Good to hear the UMR is working well with the AC2726.

  23. Bill Brown says

Hello Gerry, Could you recommend a wifi repeater this is compatible with and easy to connect to the UMR (preferably one that is available in the US)? I live in a house with a lot of concrete walls and am looking to extend the range. Thanks

  24. gerry says

Hi Bill – there isn’t a particular WiFi repeater I can recommend from first-hand experience. You basically want a wireless access point that supports Repeater Mode or Universal Repeater Mode as it is sometimes called. The ZyXEL G-570U or the D-Link DWL-2100AP would be suitable examples, but note that these don’t provide multiple LAN ports. I have worked with the Edimax EW-7209APg which offers 5 LAN ports. The documentation was practically useless, but I got its universal repeater mode going eventually thanks to some online articles.
